Genesis 1:29-31 Food provided by commandment of God Himself
29 And God said, "See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. 30 Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food"; and it was so. 31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day. NKJV
Facts to notice when examining the food prescribed for man and animal:
Y Every creature was vegetarian, eating only green herbs and fruit. This applied to man as well and birds and every creature that moves on the ground.
This is the last food provision mentioned in
Scripture prior to the Great Flood. So, when Noah was commanded to bring
Y The lion, at the beginning, ate grass like an ox as it will be again during the Kingdom Age when Jesus returns to set up His Kingdom of Universal peace for 1,000 years as mentioned in [Isaiah 11:7] and [Isaiah 65:25] when nothing will hurt or destroy in all God’s holy mountain.
When Christ reigns supreme over all the earth, and there is peace among all nations and man is at peace with man in a righteous worldwide kingdom it will affect even the nature of the elements as well as all that lives and moves on the face of the entire earth.
When Christ reigns supreme over all the earth, the relationship between man and animals will be restored to that which existed at the beginning of creation in the Garden of Eden before sin entered the world.
Y Now with creation completed, and provision made for sustaining life of all kinds established, the woman having been made, God looked at all His work of creation and saw that it was very good. Notice every step of creation was called “good” by God Himself, but when the woman was present, He declared it “very good.” God’s complete work is most excellent and His ways beyond reproach.
Y Again God wanted us to distinguish between the long time expanse often applied to the word day and a single turn of the earth by using the term “evening and morning” for clarifying and defining the time expanse actually used.
