Genesis 35:1-15 Altar at
1 Then God
said to Jacob, "Arise, go up to
5 And they
journeyed, and the terror of God was upon the cities that were all around them,
and they did not pursue the sons of Jacob. 6 So Jacob came to Luz (that is,
Deborah, Rebekah's nurse, died, and she was buried
9 Then God
appeared to Jacob again, when he came from Padan
Elohiym said to Jacob, “Arise, go up to
Y Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, (that would include his servants from Padan Aram as well as the people of Shechem whom his sons had taken captive), “Put away the foreign elohey (gods) that are among you, purify yourselves and change your garments, then let us arise and go up to Bethel and I will make an altar there to El, Who answered me in the day of my distress and has been with me in the way which I have gone.”

Y Elohiym appeared to Jacob again and renewed His covenant with him.
God again called his name

˛ The land which I gave Abraham and Isaac I give to you and to your descendants after you I give this land.”
Y Then Elohiym went up from him in the place where He talked with him. This is the second time described where God ascended from before someone as He had done before Abraham. [Genesis 17:22]
Jacob again set up a pillar of stone in the
place where God talked with him, poured a drink offering on it, poured oil on
it, and called the name of the place
