Jews and Christians

This study is intended to demonstrate the problems encountered in attempting to compare the message of the Koran with the message of the Bible.  This is an attempt to prove if the two supposed revelations are both from the same God and are thus compatible with each other as would be expected if they originate from the same source.  Both claim divine origin.   The Torah was written around 1400 B.C.   The Gospels were written between 60-90 A.D.    The Koran was written between 610-632 A.D.  Muhammad had access to both the Torah and the Gospels long before he wrote the Koran.

Below I have placed side by side the direct quotes from both the Koran and the Bible on specific topics addressed in the Koran.

Jews and Christians

Jews are accused of corrupting the Scriptures and Christians are accused of worshiping Jesus as the Son of God.  God said to worship none but Him.

They must be brought back to the true religion which is Islam.     Introduction page 2

Koran revealed by Allah

Revealed by the Compassionate, the Merciful:  a Book of revelations well expounded; A Koran in Arabic for men of understanding.

It proclaims good news and a warning:  yet most men turn their backs and pay no heed.

Fussilat  Revelations Well Expounded  41:2-4

Koran equal to Torah and the Gospel

Say:  “People of the Book, you will attain nothing until you observe the Torah and the Gospel and that which has been revealed to you from your Lord.” (Koran)

Al-Maidah      The Table 5:68

Believers, Jews, Sabeans, and Christians

Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day and does what is right shall have nothing to fear or regret.

Al-Maidah      The Table 5:69

Koran confirming Scriptures

This (Koran) is a blessed Book which We have revealed, confirming what came before it (Scriptures),

Al-An’am       Cattle     6:92

Koran confirms Scriptures

To Moses We gave the Scriptures and after him We sent other apostles, We gave Jesus son of Mary veritable signs and strengthened him with the Holy Spirit.......

Al-Baqarah    The Cow 2:87

And now a Book (referring to the Koran) confirming their own has come to them from Allah, they deny it, although they know it to be the truth and have long prayed for help against the unbelievers.  Allah’s curse be upon the infidels!           Al-Baqarah    The Cow 2:89

Koran confirms Scripture

This Koran could not have been devised by any but Allah.  It confirms what was revealed before it and fully explains the Scriptures.  It is beyond doubt from the Lord of Creation

Yunus     Jonah 10:37

All this is written in earlier scriptures; the Scriptures of Abraham and Moses.

Al-A’La    The Most High    87:19

Has he not heard of what was preached in the scriptures of Moses and Abraham

An-Najm    The Star   53:36-37

Koran confirms Scripture

Yet before it the Book of Moses was revealed:  a guide and a blessing.  This Book confirms it.  It is revealed in the Arabic tongue, to forewarn the wrongdoers and to give good tidings to the righteous.

Al-Ahqaf  The Sand Dunes  46:12

We gave the Torah to Moses, but contentions arose about it.  And but for a word from your Lord, long since decreed, their differences would have been justly settled, grave though their doubts were about it.

Fussilat Revelations Well Expounded   41:45

Koran flawless

We have given mankind in this Koran all manner of parables, so that they may take heed:  a Koran in the Arabic tongue, free from any flaw, that they may guard themselves against evil.

Az-Zumar  The Throngs   39:27-28

Koran confirms Scriptures – Torah and Gospel

He has revealed to you the Book with the Truth, confirming the Scriptures which preceded it; for He has already revealed the Torah and the Gospel for the guidance of mankind, and the distinction between right and wrong.  Those that deny Allah’s revelations shall be sternly punished.  Allah is mighty and capable of revenge.

Al-I-Imran    The Imrans    3:3-4

 Security of Jews and Christians

Believers, Jews, Christians, and Sabaeans  -  Whoever believes in Allah (God)and the Last Day and does what is right - shall be rewarded by their Lord;  They have nothing to fear or regret.

Al-Baqarah    The Cow 2:62

Jews and Christians

As for the true believers, the Jews, the Sabeans, the Christians, the Magicians, and the pagans, Allah will judge them on the Day of Resurrection.   Allah is witness of all things.

Al-Hajj       Pilgrimage  22:17

Jews and Christians and Scriptures

Jews and Christians accuse each other of being misguided yet they both read the Scriptures.  The ignorant say they both are misguided.  Allah will judge their disputes on the day of Judgment.

Al-Baqarah    The Cow 2:113

Mosques of Allah and His Name

Who is more wicked than the men who seek to destroy the mosques of Allah and forbid His name to be mentioned in them, when it behooves these men to enter them with fear in their hearts?  They shall be held up to shame in this world and in the world to come grievous punishment awaits them.

Al-Baqarah    The Cow 2:114

Danger for rejecting the Koran

Jews and Christians

But to those whose faith is firm We have already revealed Our signs.

We have sent you forth to proclaim the truth and to give warning.  You shall not be questioned about the heirs of Hell.

You will please neither the Jews nor the Christians unless you follow their faith.  And if after all the knowledge you have been given you yield to their desires, there shall be none to help or protect you from the Wrath of Allah.  Those to whom We have given the Book, and who read it as it ought to be read, truly believe in it; those that deny it will surely be the losers.

Al-Baqarah    The Cow 2:118-121

(This sets the Koran above the faith of both Jews and Christians and consigns both Jews and Christians to the Wrath of Allah if they don't accept the Koran.)

Jews and Christians

They say:  "Accept the Jewish or the Christian faith and you shall be rightly guided."

Say "By no means!  We believe in the faith of Abraham the upright one.  He was no idolater."

Al-Baqarah    The Cow 2:135

Say: “We believe in Allah and that which has been revealed to us; in what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the tribes; to Moses and Jesus and the other prophets by their Lord.  We make no distinction among any of them, and to Him we submit.”

If they accept Islam, they shall be rightly guided;

if they reject it, they shall surely be in schism.  Against them Allah is your all sufficient defender.  He hears all and knows all.

Al-Baqarah    The Cow 2:136-137

The only true faith in Allah's sight is Islam.

The only true faith in Allah’s sight is Islam.  Those to whom the Scriptures were given (Jews and Christians) disagree among themselves, through insolence, only after knowledge had been vouchsafed them.  He that denies Allah’s revelations should know that swift is Allah’s reckoning.

If they argue with you, say:  “I have submitted to Allah and so have those that follow me.”

To those who have received the Scriptures (Jews and Christians) and to the Gentiles say:  "Will you surrender yourselves to Allah?"  If they become Muslims they shall be rightly guided;  if they pay no heed, then your only duty is to warn them.  Allah is watching all His servants.

Al-I-Imran    The Imrans 3:19-20

Doctors of the Israelites

Your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful.  This is surely revealed by the Lord of Creation.  The faithful Spirit has brought it down into your heart, that you may give warning in eloquent Arabic speech.

It was surely foretold in the Scriptures of the ancients.  Is it not sufficient proof for them that the doctors of the Israelites recognize it?  If We had revealed it to a foreign man, and he had recited it to them, they still would not have believed.  Thus do We put unbelief in the hearts of the guilty: they shall not believe in it until they see the woeful scourge, which will suddenly smite them when they are heedless.  And then they will say:  “Shall we never be reprieved?”

Is it their wish to hurry on Our scourge?  Think!  If We let them live in ease for many years, and then the promised scourge does fall upon them, of what avail will their past enjoyments be to them?

Never have We destroyed a nation whom We did not warn and admonish beforehand.  We are never unjust.

It was not the devils who brought this down: it is neither in their interest nor in their power.  Indeed, they are too far away to overhear it.

Ash-Shu’araa       The Poets   26:191-212

Covenant through Abraham

The Cow 2:122-150  pages 22-25

Mosque built by Abraham and Ishmael

Claim that the Covenant was given by Allah to Abraham and Ishmael and that Abraham and Ishmael built the House.

Al-Baqarah    The Cow 2:127

Face Mecca

Many a time have We seen you turn your face towards the sky.  We will make you turn towards a Qiblah that will please you.  Turn your face towards (Mecca) the Holy Mosque;  wherever you be, turn your faces towards it.

Al-Baqarah    The Cow   2:144

Which ever way you depart, face toward the Holy Mosque (Mecca).  This is surely the truth from your Lord.  Allah is never heedless of what you do.  Whichever way you depart, face towards the Holy Mosque:  and wherever you are, face towards it, so that men will have no cause to reproach you, except the evildoers among them.  Have no fear of them;  fear Me, so that I may perfect My favor to you and that you may be rightly guided.

Al-Baqarah    The Cow  2:149-150

Some Jews take words out of their context and say:  "We hear, but disobey.  May you be bereft of hearing!  Ra'ina!"  thus distorting the phrase with their tongues and reviling the true faith.  But if they said:  "We hear and obey:  hear us and Ungurna,"  it would be better and more proper for them.  Allah has cursed them in their unbelief.  They have no faith, except a few of them.

You to whom the Scriptures were given!  Believe in that which We have revealed, confirming your own Scriptures, before We obliterate your faces and turn them backward, or lay our curse on you as We laid it on the Sabbath breakers.  What Allah ordains shall be accomplished.

An-Nisaa     Women  4:46-47

Jews (hidden) to flee from their country

Had We commanded them, saying:  "Lay down your lives,"  or "Flee from your country," only a few would have complied.  Yet, had they done what they were admonished to do, it would have been better for them and their faith would have been strengthened.  We would have bestowed on them of Our grace a rich recompense and guided them to a straight path.

An-Nisaa     Women 4:66-67

Covenant with Israel

Allah made a covenant with the Israelites and raised among them twelve chieftains.  Allah said:  "I shall be with you.  If you attend to your prayers and render the alms levy; if you believe in My apostles and assist them and give Allah a generous loan, I shall forgive you your sins and admit you to gardens watered by running streams.  But he that hereafter denies Me shall stray from the right path.

Al-Maidah      The Table  5:12

Israel exalted above the nations

The Book and Israelites

We gave the Book to the Israelites and bestowed on them wisdom and prophethood.  We provided them with wholesome things and exalted them above the nations.  We gave them clear commandments:  yet it was not till knowledge had been vouchsafed them that they disagreed maliciously among themselves.  Your Lord will on the Day of Resurrection judge their differences.

Al-Jathiya  Kneeling  45:16-17

Covenant with Christians

With those who said they were Christians We made a covenant also, but they too have forgotten much of what they were exhorted to do.  Therefore We stirred among them enmity and hatred, which shall endure till the Day of Resurrection, when Allah will declare to them all that they have done.

Al-Maidah      The Table  5:14

Jews and Christians are unbelievers

Unbelievers are those who declare:  "God is the Messiah, the son of Mary."  Say:  "Who could prevent Allah, if He so willed, from destroying the Messiah, the son of Mary, his mother, and all the people of the earth?  Allah has sovereignty over the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them.  He creates what He will; and Allah has power over all things."

Al-Maidah      The Table 5:17

The Jews and Christians say:  "We are the children of God and His loved ones."  Say:  "Why then does He punish you for your sins?  Surely you are mortals of His own creation.  He forgives whom He will and punishes whom He pleases.  Allah has sovereignty over the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them.  All shall return to Him."

Al-Maidah      The Table  5:18

Death to the enemies of Allah

Those that make war against Allah and His apostle and spread disorder in the land shall be slain or crucified or have their hands and feet cut off on alternate sides, or be banished from the land.  They shall be held up to shame in this world and sternly punished in the hereafter:  except those that repent before you reduce them.  For you must know that Allah is forgiving and merciful.

Al-Maidah      The Table 5:33-34

Fight for Allah

Believers, have fear of Allah and seek the right path to Him.  Fight valiantly for His cause, so that you may triumph.

As for the unbelievers, if they offered all that the earth contains and as much besides to redeem themselves from the torment of the Day of Resurrection, it shall not be accepted from them.  Woeful punishment awaits them.  They will strive to get out of the Fire, but get out of it they shall not.  Lasting punishment awaits them.

Al-Maidah      The Table 5:35-37

Make war on the infidels

It is not right that all the faithful should go to war at once.  A band from each community should stay behind to instruct themselves in religion and to admonish their men when they return, so that they may take heed.

Believers, make war on the infidels who dwell around you.  Deal firmly with them.  Know that Allah is with the righteous.

At-Touba    Repentance 9:122-123

Friendships with other beliefs

Jews and Christians

Believers, take neither the Jews nor the Christians for your friends.  They are friends with one another.  Whoever of you seeks their friendship shall become one of their number.  Allah does not guide the wrongdoers.....

Al-Maidah      The Table 5:51

Friendship with infidels - Jews & Christians

Believers, do not seek the friendship of the infidels and those who were given the Book before you (Jews and Christians), who have made of your religion a jest and a diversion.  Have fear of Allah, if you are true believers.  When you call them to pray, they treat their prayers as a jest and a diversion.  This is because they are devoid of understanding.

Say: "People of the Book, is it not that you hate us only because we believe in Allah and in what has been revealed to us and to others before, and because most of you are evil doers?"

Say:  "Shall I tell you who will receive a worse reward from Allah?  Those whom Allah has cursed and with whom He has been angry, transforming them into apes and swine, and those who serve the devil.  Worse is the plight of these, and they have strayed farther from the right path.

When they came to you they said:  “We are believers.”  Indeed, infidels they came and infidels they departed.  Allah knew best what they concealed.

You see many among them vie with one another in sin and wickedness and practice what is unlawful.  Evil is what they do.

Why do their rabbis and divines not forbid them to blaspheme or to practice what is unlawful?  Evil indeed are their doings.

Al-Maidah      The Table  5:57-63

The Jews say:  Allah's hand is chained."  May their own hands be chained!  May they be cursed for what they say!  By no means.  His hands are both outstretched:  He bestows as He will.

Al-Maidah      The Table 5:64

Jews and Christians

Those of the Israelites who disbelieve were cursed by David and Jesus son of Mary, because they rebelled and committed evil.  Nor did they censure themselves for any wrong they did.  Evil were their deeds.

You see many among them making friends with unbelievers.  Evil is that to which their souls prompt them.  They have incurred the wrath of Allah and shall endure eternal torment.  Had they believed in Allah and the Prophet (Muhammad) and that which has been revealed to him, they would not have befriended them.  But many of them are evil doers.

You will find that the most implacable of men in their enmity to the faithful are the Jews and the pagans, and that the nearest in affection to them are those who say: "We are Christians."  That is because there are priests and monks among them; and because they are free from pride.

When they listen to that which was revealed to the Apostle, you see their eyes fill with tears as they recognize the truth.  They say: "Lord, we believe.  Count us among the witnesses.  Why should we not believe in Allah and in the truth that has come down to us?  Why should we not hope our Lord will admit us among the righteous?"  And for their words Allah has rewarded them with gardens watered by running streams, where they shall dwell forever.  Such is the recompense of the righteous.  But those that disbelieve and deny Our revelations shall become the inmates of Hell.

Al-Maidah      The Table 5:78-86

Jesus is God

Unbelievers are those that say: "God is the Messiah, the son of Mary."  For the Messiah himself said: "Children of Israel, serve Allah, my Lord and your Lord."  He that worships other deities besides Allah, Allah will deny him Paradise, and the Fire shall be his home.  None shall help the evil doers.

Unbelievers are those that say:  "Allah is one of three."  There is but one God.  If they do not desist from so saying, those of them that disbelieve shall be sternly punished.

Al-Maidah      The Table 5:72-73

The Messiah, the son of Mary, was no more than an apostle: other apostles passed away before him.  His mother was a saintly woman.  They both ate earthly food.

Al-Maidah      The Table 5:75

To Moses We gave the Scriptures, a perfect code for the righteous with precepts about all things, a guide and a benison (blessing or benediction), so that they might believe in meeting their Lord.  And now We have revealed this Book truly blessed.  Observe it and keep from evil, so that you may find mercy and not say: "The Scriptures were revealed only to two communities (Jews and Christians) before us;  we have no knowledge of what they read." Or "Had the Scriptures been revealed to us we would have been better guided than they."

A veritable sign has now come to you from your Lord, a guide and a benison.  And who is more wicked than the man who denies the revelations of Allah and turns away from them:  Those that turn away from Our revelations shall be sternly punished for their indifference.

Al-An’am       Cattle     6:154-157

The Jews say Ezra is the son of God, while the Christians say the Messiah is the son of God.  Such are their assertions, by which they imitate the infidels of old.  Allah confounded them!  How perverse they are!

They make their clerics and their monks, and of the Messiah, the son of Mary, Lords besides Allah; though they were ordered to serve one God only.  There is no god but Him.  Exalted be He above those they deify besides Him!...........

At-Touba    Repentance 9:29-31

Fighting for the cause of Allah

Do you pretend that he who gives a drink to the pilgrims and pays a visit to the Sacred Mosque is as worthy as the man who believes in Allah and the Last Day, and fights for Allah's cause?  These are not held equal by Allah.  Allah does not guide the wrongdoers.

Those that have embraced the Faith, and left their homes, and fought for Allah's cause with their wealth and with their persons, are held in higher regard by Allah.  It is they who shall triumph.  Their Lord has promised them mercy from Himself, and His pleasure and gardens of eternal bliss where they shall dwell for ever.  Allah's recompense is great indeed.

Say, "If your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your wives, your tribes, the property you have acquired, the merchandise you fear may not be sold, and the homes you love, are dearer to you than Allah, His apostle and the struggle for His cause, then wait until Allah shall fulfill His decree.  Allah does not guide the evil doers.......

At-Touba    Repentance 9:19-24

Fight against such of those to whom the Scriptures were given as believe in neither Allah nor the Last Day, who do not forbid what Allah and His apostle have forbidden, and do not embrace the true Faith, until they pay tribute out of hand and are utterly subdued.

Believers, why is it that when you are told:  “March in the cause of Allah,” you linger slothfully in the land?  Are you content with this life in preference to the life to come?  Few indeed are the blessings of this life, compared with those of the life to come.

If you do not go to war, He will punish you sternly and will replace you by other men.  You will in no way harm Him: for Allah has power over all things......

At-Touba    Repentance 9:38-39

Whether unarmed or well equipped, march on and fight for the cause of Allah, with your wealth and with your persons.  This will be best for you, if you but knew it.....

At-Touba    Repentance 9:41

Those that believe in Allah and the Last Day will not beg you to exempt them from fighting with their wealth and with their persons.  Allah best knows the righteous.  Only those seek exemption who disbelieve in Allah and the Last Day, and whose hearts are filled with doubt because they doubt, they waver.

At-Touba    Repentance 9:44-45

Moses, Israel, the Scriptures, and the Koran

We gave Moses the Book and made it a guide for the Israelites, saying:  “Take no other guardian than Myself.  You are the descendants of those whom We carried in the ark with Noah.  He was a truly thankful servant.

In the Book we solemnly declared to the Israelites:  “Twice you shall do evil in the land.  You shall become great transgressors.”

And when the prophecy of your first transgression came to be fulfilled, We sent against you a formidable army which ravaged your land and carried out the punishment you had been promised.

Then We granted you victory over them and multiplied your riches and your descendants, so that once again you became more numerous than they.  We said:  “If you do good, it shall be to your advantage; but if you do evil, you shall sin against your own souls.”

When the prophecy of your next transgression came to be fulfilled, We sent another army to afflict you and to enter the Temple as the former entered it before, utterly destroying all that they laid their hands on.

We said:  “Your Lord may yet be merciful to you.  If you again transgress, you shall again be scourged.  We have made Hell a prison house for the unbelievers.”

This Koran will give guidance to that which is most upright.  It promises the faithful who do good works a rich recompense, and those who deny the life to come a woeful scourge.  Yet man prays for evil as fervently as he prays for good.  Truly, man is ever impatient.

Al-Israa    The Night Journey   17:2-11

Allah has no son

Say:  “Praise be to Allah who has never begotten a son;  who has no partner in His Kingdom;  who needs none to defend Him from humiliation.”   Proclaim His greatness.

Al-Israa    The Night Journey   17:11

Allah has no son

Praise be to Allah who has revealed the Book to His servant shorn of contradictions and unswerving from the truth, so that he may give warning of the dire scourge from Himself, proclaim to the faithful who do good works that a rich and everlasting recompense awaits them, and admonish those who say that Allah has begotten a son.  Surely of this they could have no knowledge, neither they nor their fathers:  a monstrous blasphemy is that which they utter.  They preach nothing but falsehood.

Al-Kahf     The Cave     18:1-5

Those who say:  “The Lord of Mercy has begotten a son,”  preach a monstrous falsehood, at which the very heavens might crack, the earth split asunder, and the mountains crumble to dust.  That they should ascribe a son to the Merciful, when it does not become the Lord of Mercy to beget one.

Mary  19:88-92

They say:  "Allah has begotten a son."  Allah forbid!  Self sufficient is He.  His is all that the heavens and the earth contain.  Surely for this you have no sanction.  Would you say of Allah what you know not?

Yunus     Jonah 10:68

No begotten son

Never has Allah begotten a son, nor is there any other god besides Him.  Were this otherwise, each god would govern his own creation, each holding himself above the other.  Exalted by Allah above their falsehoods!

Al-Muminun      The Believers  23:91

Koran and Christian faith

By the Koran, with all its precepts!  Surely the unbelievers are imbued with arrogance and perverseness.

How many generations have We destroyed before them!  They all cried out for mercy, when it was too late to escape.

They marvel that a prophet of their own should arise among them,  “This is a sorcerer, a teller of lies,” say the unbelievers.  “Does he claim that all the gods are one god?  This is indeed a strange thing.”

Their leaders go about saying:  “Pay no heed and stand firm in the worship of your gods:  it is a binding duty.  We have not heard of this in the Christian faith.  It is nothing but a false invention.  Was the Word revealed to him alone among us?”

Yes they are in doubt about My warning, for they have not yet tasted My scourge.

Sad  38:1-8

Adopted son

Had it been Allah’s will to adopt a son, He would have chosen whom He pleased out of His own Creation.  But Allah forbid!  He is Allah, the One, the Almighty.

Az-Zumar  The Throngs   39:4

Jews and Christians

Muhammad is Allah’s apostle.  Those who follow him are ruthless to the unbelievers but merciful to one another.  You see them worshipping on their knees, seeking the grace of Allah and His good will.  Their marks are on their faces, the traces of their prostrations.  Thus are they described in the Torah and in the Gospel:  they are like the seed which puts forth its root and strengthens it, so that it rises stout and firm upon its stalk, delighting the sowers.  Through them He seeks to enrage the unbelievers.  Yet to those of them who will embrace the Faith (Islam) and do good works Allah has promised forgiveness and rich recompense.

Al-Fat-h   Victory   48:29

Jews & Scriptures

Those to whom the burden of the Torah was entrusted and yet refused to bear it are like a donkey laden with books.  Wretched is the example of those who deny Allah’s revelations.  Allah does not guide the wrongdoers.

Say to the Jews:  “If you claim that of all men you alone are Allah’s friends, then you should wish for death, if what you say be true!”  But, because of what their hands have done, they will never wish for death.  Allah knows the wrongdoers.

Say:  “The death from which you shrink is sure to overtake you.  Then you shall be sent back to Him who knows the unknown and the manifest, and He will declare to you all that you have done.”

Al-Jumu’a   Friday, or Day of Congregation    62:5-8

The Land

We destroyed generations before your time on account of the wrongs they did;  their apostles came to them with veritable signs, but they would not believe.  Thus shall We reward the guilty.  Then We made you their successors in the land, so that We might observe how you would conduct yourselves.

Yunus     Jonah  10:13-14

Worshiping Jesus

Speaking of Jesus, God said, Let all the angels of God worship Him.

Hebrews 1:6

Jesus the Lamb receives worship along with the One seated on the Throne and equally with Him.

Revelation 5:1-14

All Scripture is inspired of God

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:16-17    NKJV

We are warned against another Gospel

I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.  But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.  As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.

Galatians 1:6-9   NKJV

Koran does not confirm Scriptures

(How can a book confirm the Torah and Gospel when it rewrites them and changes both the stories and the message?)

Truth and the life

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.   John 14:6

But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed.

2 Peter 2:1-2   NKJV

At the Transfiguration God Himself spoke

And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!"

Luke 9:35    NKJV

Salvation is for all who believe

Jews and Christians and whoever

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

John 3:16-19  NKJV

Do not even mention the name of other gods

And in all that I have said to you, be circumspect and make no mention of the name of other gods, nor let it be heard from your mouth.

Exodus 23:13

Therefore be very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, lest you turn aside from it to the right hand or to the left, and lest you go among these nations, these who remain among you. You shall not make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause anyone to swear by them; you shall not serve them nor bow down to them,

Joshua 23:6-7  NKJV

Do not alter to the Scriptures

Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the LORD your God that I give you.    Deuteronomy 4:2    (NIV)

See that you do all I command you; do not add to it or take away from it.

Deuteronomy   12:32   (NIV)

Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar.

Proverbs 30:66   (NIV)

I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that men will revere him.

Ecclesiastes 3:14    (NIV)

I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this Book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this Book.

And if anyone takes words away from this Book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the Tree of Life and in the Holy City, which are described in this Book     Revelation 22:18-19.     (NIV)

"Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God:

Y      Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country.

Y      Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks.

Y      Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.

Y      Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.

"The LORD will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.

The LORD will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the LORD your God is giving you.

The LORD will establish you as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the LORD your God and walk in His ways.

Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the LORD, and they shall be afraid of you.

And the LORD will grant you plenty of goods, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground, in the land of which the LORD swore to your fathers to give you.

The LORD will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.

And the LORD will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.

So you shall not turn aside from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right hand or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

Deuteronomy 28:1-14    NKJV

Covenant through Abraham and Isaac

And Abraham said to (Elohiym) God, "Oh, that Ishmael might live before You!"  Then (Elohiym) God said: "No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him.

And as for Ishmael, I have heard you. Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly. He shall beget twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation.

But My covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this set time next year."

Genesis 17:18-21  NKJV

Face Jerusalem and the Temple

Solomon's prayer suggested that wherever one travels when they pray they should pray toward the Temple in Jerusalem.   1 Kings 8:22-53, 2 Chronicles 6:1-42

There is no commandment from God in the Bible to face in any direction when praying.  However Daniel faced Jerusalem when he prayed.

And during the Kingdom age Zechariah said:

Yes, many peoples and strong nations

Shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem,

And to pray before the LORD.'

Zechariah 8:22   NKJV

The Koran doesn’t quote the Scriptures correctly

And Moses went up to God, and the LORD called to him from the mountain, saying, "Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel: 'You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings and brought you to Myself. Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine.  And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel."

Exodus 19:3-6    NKJV

Then all the people answered together and said, "All that the LORD has spoken we will do."

Exodus 19:8  NKJV

Jews and the Land

The Bible does not call for the Jews to lay down their lives or flee from their country.

And the LORD said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: "Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are--northward, southward, eastward, and westward; for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever.

Genesis 13:14-15   NKJV

Covenant with Abraham and Israel

And God said to Abraham: "As for you, you shall keep My covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations. This is My covenant which you shall keep, between Me and you and your descendants after you: Every male child among you shall be circumcised; and you shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskins, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between Me and you. He who is eight days old among you shall be circumcised, every male child in your generations, he who is born in your house or bought with money from any foreigner who is not your descendant. He who is born in your house and he who is bought with your money must be circumcised, and My covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant. And the uncircumcised male child, who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, that person shall be cut off from his people; he has broken My covenant."

Genesis 17:9-14  NKJV

You are sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, 'And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.'  To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities."  Acts 3:25-26  NKJV

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.  None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them.  For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more."

Hebrews 8:10-12  NKJV

Israel exalted above the nations

Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine.

Exodus 19:4-5  NKJV

Covenant with the Christians

For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Matthew 26:28  NKJV

"This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,"  then He adds, "Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more."

Hebrews 10:16-17  NKJV

For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.

Ephesians 2:14-18   NKJV

For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Galatians 3:26-29   NKJV

Love your enemies

But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

Matthew 5:44-48   NKJV

Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord. Therefore

"If your enemy is hungry, feed him;

If he is thirsty, give him a drink;

For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head."

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.    Romans 12:17-21   NKJV

And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one's work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear; knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

1 Peter 1:17-19    NKJV

Friendships with other beliefs

Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people."

"Therefore come out from them and be separate,   says the Lord.

Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you."

"I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters,    says the Lord Almighty."

2 Corinthians 6:14-18   NIV

Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men. For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.

Romans 5:18-19   NIV

As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies on your account; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs, for God's gifts and his call are irrevocable. Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience, so they too have now become disobedient in order that they too may now receive mercy as a result of God's mercy to you. For God has bound all men over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.

Romans 11:28-32    NIV

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men-the testimony given in its proper time. And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an apostle-I am telling the truth, I am not lying-and a teacher of the true faith to the Gentiles.

1 Timothy 2:1-7   NIV

This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance and for this we labor and strive), that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe.

1 Timothy 4:9-10   NIV

But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished- he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.

Romans 3:21-26   NIV

Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law. Or is He the God of the Jews only? Is He not also the God of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also, since there is one God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith. Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law.

Romans 3:27-31   NKJV

Jesus is God and Son of God

God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

For to which of the angels did He ever say:

"You are My Son, Today I have begotten You"?

And again:

"I will be to Him a Father, And He shall be to Me a Son"?

But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says

"Let all the angels of God worship Him."  :

Hebrews 1:1-6  NKJV

But to the Son He says:

"Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;  A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your Kingdom.

You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness;

Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You

With the oil of gladness more than Your companions."

Hebrews 1:8-9   NKJV

You have put all things in subjection under his feet."

For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothing that is not put under him. But now we do not yet see all things put under him. But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone.

For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren,

Hebrews 2:8-12   NKJV

"Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.

John 14:1-2   NKJV

Y      Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Y      Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted.

Y      Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth.

Y      Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.

Y      Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy.

Y      Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.

Y      Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God.

Y      Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Y      Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.

Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Matthew 5:3-12    NKJV

Moses received the Law

And Moses wrote all the words of the LORD. And he rose early in the morning, and built an altar at the foot of the mountain, and twelve pillars according to the twelve tribes of Israel. Then he sent young men of the children of Israel, who offered burnt offerings and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen to the LORD. And Moses took half the blood and put it in basins, and half the blood he sprinkled on the altar. Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read in the hearing of the people. And they said, "All that the LORD has said we will do, and be obedient." And Moses took the blood, sprinkled it on the people, and said, "This is the blood of the covenant which the LORD has made with you according to all these words."

Exodus 24:4-8    NKJV

So it was, when Moses had completed writing the words of this law in a book, when they were finished, that Moses commanded the Levites, who bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD, saying: "Take this Book of the Law, and put it beside the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there as a witness against you; for I know your rebellion and your stiff neck. If today, while I am yet alive with you, you have been rebellious against the LORD, then how much more after my death?

Deuteronomy 31:24-27    NKJV

Son of Yehowah

"I will declare the decree: The LORD has said to Me,

Y      'You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.

Y      Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession.

Y      You shall break them with a rod of iron;

Y      You shall dash them to pieces like a potter's vessel.' "

Psalms 2:7-9   NKJV

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, "This was He of whom I said, 'He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.' " And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

John 1:14-18    NKJV

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! This is He of whom I said, 'After me comes a Man who is preferred before me, for He was before me.' "I did not know Him; but that He should be revealed to Israel, therefore I came baptizing with water." And John bore witness, saying, "I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him. I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, 'Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.' "And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God."

John 1:29-34    NKJV

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

John 3:16-18   NKJV

God has fulfilled this for us their children, in that He has raised up Jesus. As it is also written in the second Psalm:

Y      'You are My Son,

Y      Today I have begotten You.'

Acts 13:33   NKJV

For to which of the angels did He ever say:

Y      "You are My Son, Today I have begotten You"?

Y      And again:

Y      "I will be to Him a Father, And He shall be to Me a Son"?

But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says:

Y      "Let all the angels of God worship Him."

Y      And of the angels He says:

Y      "Who makes His angels spirits And His ministers a flame of fire."

But to the Son He says:

Y      "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your Kingdom.

Y      You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions."

Y      "You, LORD, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the work of Your hands.

Y      They will perish, but You remain; And they will all grow old like a garment;  Like a cloak You will fold them up, And they will be changed.

Y      But You are the same, And Your years will not fail."

Hebrews 1:5-12    NKJV

So also Christ did not glorify Himself to become High Priest, but it was He who said to Him:

Y      "You are My Son, Today I have begotten You."

As He also says in another place:

Y      "You are a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek";

Hebrews 5:5-6    NKJV

In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.

1 John 4:9    NKJV

Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments.

1 John 5:1-2    NKJV

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved.

Ephesians 1:3-6    NKJV

Israel to inherit the Land

And dwell in it Forever

"David My servant shall be king over them, and they shall all have one shepherd; they shall also walk in My judgments and observe My statutes, and do them. Then they shall dwell in the land that I have given to Jacob My servant, where your fathers dwelt; and they shall dwell there, they, their children, and their children's children, forever; and My servant David shall be their prince forever.

Ezekiel 37:24-25    NKJV

"Thus speaks the LORD God of Israel, saying: 'Write in a book for yourself all the words that I have spoken to you. For behold, the days are coming,' says the LORD, 'that I will bring back from captivity My people Israel and Judah,' says the LORD. 'And I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.' "

Jeremiah 30:2-3    NKJV
